CAPELLA KREUZBERG

Revelling in harmonies, tracing shimmering, beautiful frictions to the point of shivers or letting your vocal chords jog athletically through the coloratura of a Bach fugue - these are just some of the pleasures that singing with Capella Kreuzberg can offer.

We are a concert choir of amateur singers that developed in the mid-1980s from the church choir of the Berlin Stadtmission and is open to singers of all ages (from 18 years).
Working with sound and breath and enjoying exciting works of secular and sacred vocal music bring us together every week.

Under the direction of Johannes Rühl, a qualified choir director and music educator, we rehearse an average of one concert per year. This usually alternates between an
a cappella programme and a programme with orchestral accompaniment and soloists.

In addition to the rehearsals, professional voice training is offered by Ricarda Gross-Khachaturian for the vocal groups and individual singers. To deepen the work, there are also usually rehearsal weekends that take place close to the concerts.
Social get-togethers are also part of the Capella Kreuzberg tradition.

However, after more than two years of the coronavirus pandemic, we have unfortunately been thinned out in all vocal ranges.

Basses, tenors, altos and sopranos - come along and make music with us, you don't have to audition!

Capella Kreuzberg is supported by the Berliner Stadtmission and is a member of the Chorverband Berlin.
